South Korea plans to negotiate with the United States after President Donald Trump announced a 25 percent tariff on goods from South Korea.
He has now set the tariff at 10 percent for 90 days for most U.S. trade partners, giving them time to renegotiate their deals with the U.S.
The statement mentioned that Ahn is set to leave Seoul on Wednesday, but it didn't provide details about the meeting's agenda.
The meeting will make South Korea one of the first countries to negotiate with the United States after the new tariffs were introduced, including baseline and reciprocal tariffs that have reached 145% on Chinese imports.
